The Hungarian writer has received the prestigious Nobel in Literary Arts.

The Magyar author was recognised "for his compelling and prophetic oeuvre that, during cataclysmic fear, reaffirms the might of literature."

The author has authored five novels and garnered many additional writing prizes, including the 2015's Booker International, and the 2013 finest rendered work prize in Narrative for his debut book "Satantango", a contemporary work concerning the conclusion of the world.

Krasznahorkai is the second Magyar author to pick up the award following the late Imre Kertesz, who won in 2002.

Originating in 1954, the author earned fame in 1985 when he issued Satantango, which he transformed for the movies in the mid-1990s.

This b&w movie, by Hungarian film-maker Béla Tarr, is renowned for its lengthy length.

Krasznahorkai's additional novels consist of:

The author's 2021 book "Herscht 07769" has been called as a major modern Deutsch story, because of its precision in illustrating the land's communal turmoil prior to the pandemic.

It's a depiction of a modern small town in Thüringen, Germany, afflicted by social lawlessness, killing and incendiarism.

Krasznahorkai's newest ironic book, Zsömle Odavan, goes back to the Hungarian setting.

The main character is elderly Uncle Józsi Kada, who has a hidden claim to the monarchy but has taken extreme measures to vanish from the planet.
